James Wayne Doble, 78, of Harding, passed on to be with the Lord on Nov. 19, 2025, while he was a guest at Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter.
He was the son of the late Anthony and Kay Bednar Doble and brother to the late Thomas Doble, all of Harding.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of West Pittston High School and received an associate's degree from Penn State University. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 and was stationed for two years on the same ship as his brother, Tom, in Rota, Spain.
An electronics whiz, Jim's early career was in electronic communications. He spent much of his later years as Product Manager for The Sanapac Company, a family business, in Dallas.
As an avid outdoorsman, Jim had a green thumb for gardening, enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, camping in the RV, and traveling and cruising with the love of his life and wife of 48 years, the former Darlene Bartos.
A motor enthusiast, Jim lovingly restored his classic 1970 Chevelle SS Super Sport and spent many weekends riding in the Pennsylvania countryside with Darlene on one of his many Honda Motorcycles. He was also a ham radio jockey and music buff. Jim was the family's "Go-To Expert" for any music trivia questions, long before there was Google!
Jim was a devoted, loving husband, a good friend and neighbor, and a kind and caring family member. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Doble (nee Bartos), and many close family members and friends. Jim Doble was beloved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
