JAMES DODD, age 56, of Union City, OH passed away on October 7, 2024 at 3:52 p.m. at Everheart Hospice, Greenville, OH. He was born on July 28,1968 to the late Charles E and Elba (Cornelius) Dodd.
James is survived by six children: Courtney Long, Columbus, OH; Brandon (Ashley) Shellabarger, Piqua, OH; Jeremy Shellabarger, Columbus, OH; Tatum Dodd, Nashville, TN; Whitney (Brad) Marchal, Piqua, OH; Maddi (Vincent) Wideman, Greenville, OH; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles (Jenny) Dodd II, Piqua, OH; Sam (Marci) Dodd, Kentucky; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Bill) Alvey, Piqua, OH; Shelly (Tom) Todd, Versailles; OH; eleven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; cousin, care giver and a gift from God Bobbie Jean Dodd Cain (we do not know how we could ever repay her). James was preceded in death by one sister Anita Joyce Neal and nephew Matthew Dodd.
James was a maintenance man for GTI in Greenville, OH for over 20 years. He recently worked for Oakley Place in Greenville as a maintenance man. James loved going fishing, camping and working on cars. He especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
Funeral services for James will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH with Rev. Anthony Krummrey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, OH. The family will receive friends on Friday October 11, 2024 from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, East Central Division, 2808 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45206.
