James (“Jim”) Dolan passed away on September 1, 2024 in Roswell, GA at the age of 89. Jim was raised in Chicago IL and attended St. Mary’s College in Winona MN. It was in Winona where he met and married Sandra, his wife of 66 years. He served for several years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and worked in the field of risk management. His career led to relocations from IL to Franklin TN and then to Dunwoody GA. After retirement, he and Sandra moved to Dawsonville GA where he pursued hobbies including golf, gardening, travel, and spending time with friends, family, and neighbors. He also enjoyed volunteering in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, as a caseworker with St. Vincent de Paul, at Northside Forsyth Hospital, and in various activities at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming GA.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Katherine Dolan and his sister Genevieve Ann Jurkowski. He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughters Debbie Bickes (Jim) of Johns Creek, Kathy Pampolina (Dino) of Dacula, Patti Palmich (Mike) of Roswell, brother Frank (Pat) Dolan of Bellefonte PA, five grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Jim will be lovingly remembered for his wide smile, delight in his Irish heritage, his mischievous pranks, “Dad jokes” and strong work ethic, but most of all, for how much he loved his family.
Visitation will be at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on September 12 from 5-7 p.m with a Rosary recitation at 5:30 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on September 13, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell with a reception to follow in the parish hall at 11:30 AM
