James Grant Dunmire, age 78, of Shaler Twp., passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, after a heroic fight with cancer. Born in Pittsburgh, to the late Earl A. and Ruth M. (Spencer) Dunmire; beloved husband of 56 years to Sandy (Marmarelli) Dunmire; loving father of Jennifer (Ron) Hegner, Beth (Kevin) McKee, and Heather (Justin) Lively; brother to the late Earl E. Dunmire (Merry) and Robert L. Dunmire (Joyce); grandfather to Brock, Peyton, Chase, Paige, and Colton; Jim retired from the Fox Chapel School District after 35 years of teaching where he also coached. He enjoyed music, playing golf with his buddies, and working outside in his yard. He was a lifelong member of the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many. Friends will be received on Sunday from 12 noon to 5 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, Glenshaw: 300 Glenn Ave., Glenshaw PA 15116. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church.
