A Celebration of Life celebrating the life of James Earl “Jim” Norwood, 91, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 A.M., September 13, 2025, at First West Feazel Chapel

Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend, is now singing in the heavenly choir, worshipping his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jim passed away at St. Francis Medical Center on August 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a multi-talented musician, excelling in piano, guitar, and various instruments. Jim served as Worship Pastor at several churches. He performed as a soloist, including opera, and was active as a KREB broadcaster and actor in local theater. Jim played a significant role in the Miss Louisiana Pageant as an orchestra director and singer. He enjoyed repairing electronics and donated refurbished fans to nursing homes. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a business partner with Blake Whitlatch in the Bulk Mixer company. In further achievement, Jim pursued a law degree at the age of 51, becoming an attorney later in life.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, Leo Earl Norwood; mother, Sadie Yarborough Norwood; and brother, Charles Norwood.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Bradley Norwood, and his children: Della Norwood Smith (Ronnie), Nelda Norwood Young, James Clayton “Clay” Norwood (Shaunne), Andrea Norwood Pate (Josh), Bach Norwood (Kirstin), and Nicholas Norwood (partner Eric). His grandchildren include Ann Marie Young, Brandon Young, and Haley Norwood.
