Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) on Nov. 5, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James H. Eldridge, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on September 6, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on August 9, 1943, in Lynch, Kentucky, Jim lived a life characterized by service, dedication, and warmth.
James proudly served in the United States Navy for six years before embarking on an impressive thirty-year commitment to the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. His military journey was a source of great pride, often shared through fond reminiscences of camaraderie and adventure. In 1975, he married Jill Strohofer, and together they created a blended family.
After many years of dedicated service at Queen City Metro of Southwest Ohio, Jim transitioned into retirement yet continued to engage with the community as a sales representative and delivery driver at AutoZone. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and hunting, pursuits he cherished as opportunities to connect with nature and family alike. Jim found joy in bowling and delighted in recounting stories from his Navy days, often igniting laughter and nostalgia among those he loved.
James leaves behind a legacy that will echo in the lives of his children-Angel Cupp (Rich), Bridget (Mike Greiner), James and Tammy Eldridge, and the late Adam Eldridge-and his cherished grandchildren, Hunter and Hayley Cupp, and Nate Greiner. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jill Eldridge, and his parents, Hardin and Ossie Eldridge and son Adam Eldridge l. His absence will be deeply felt, yet his spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of those he loved.
