It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Richard T. Adams on October 20, 2025, at the age of 81. Richard was born on April 22, 1944, in Covington, KY, to Truman and June (Fields) Adams. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1962, then proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1963. He dedicated many years to the manufacturing industry, particularly at Hader Industry where he made auto parts. He later transitioned to working as a certified nursing assistant in home care, a role he cherished for the opportunity to connect with and care for his patients.
An adventurous spirit, Richard was always on the go. He loved life on the water, sharing many memorable moments with his best friend and grandson Kenny, including the famous boat mishap in the river! Richard loved his boats and being on the river. One summer he boated all the way up and down the entire Ohio river from Pittsburg to the Gulf. He enjoyed hosting family and friends around the pool – a space he kept in pristine condition, despite seldom taking a dip himself. Richard's love for travel took him on spontaneous adventures to places like Mammoth Cave and Gatlinburg, and he had a special fondness for roller coasters riding them throughout his life.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian, his parents, Truman and June, his brother Randy, and several in-laws.
He is survived by his daughters, Genia (Kenny) Epling and Sherry Adams, and son Randy (Michelle) Adams; his cherished grandchildren, Amanda Allen, Kenny (Tiffani) Epling, Hayley (Vinnie Belpario) Dewitt, Kaiden Ashcraft James Merriman; and adored great-grandchildren, Leo, Sarabelle, Abbygayle Hunter, Weston, and Eliana. He will also be greatly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, and siblings-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Brater Winter Funeral Home, located at 138 Monitor Ave., Sayler Park, Ohio, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12 p.m. Rev. Jackie Apted will officiate the service. Afterward, Richard will be laid to rest at Flour Creek Cemetery in Butler, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Brater Winter Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
Richard will be remembered for his big heart, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
