Victoria Ruth Breeze Bierman, born on March 17, 1947, in Covington, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Her journey, marked by dedication to education and community service, spanned nearly eight decades filled with memories, achievements, and shared moments.
Vicki dedicated almost 50 years of her life to teaching, contributing over 27 years at Jefferson County Public Schools. Her teaching career included significant roles at Western High School, Westport High School, and Carrithers Middle School. After retirement, she continued her passion for education, teaching preschool for more than 20 years at Westport Road Baptist Church Preschool. She continued to volunteer at her daughter's public school in Atlanta, Georgia.
An advocate for education, Vicki’s educational background was impressive. She attended Holmes High School and graduated from Dixie Heights High School in Fort Mitchell, KY. Vicki furthered her education at the University of Kentucky, where she would meet her husband, Richard Bierman. She later received her Rank 1 in Education from the University of Louisville, solidifying her commitment to enriching the lives of her students.
Vicki’s vibrant personality resonated with all who knew her. Always on the go, she gave selflessly to her family, friends, and community. She formed many deep, lifelong friendships and was known for her ability to connect with others, never having met a stranger. She had an extremely strong bond with her granddaughter, Jessie, and often held "Mimi Camp" during her school breaks. Her competitive spirit shone through in her love of games, keeping score over decades with her family. Vicki had a passion for exploring new things, whether it involved trying different cuisines, learning about diverse cultures, or stepping outside of her comfort zone.
Her contributions extended beyond the classroom. Vicki was a beloved member, past officer, and Commemorative Events Chairman at the John Marshall Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution. As one of the first female deacons at Westport Road Baptist Church, she dedicated her time and talent to numerous ministries, including Operation Christmas Child, Women’s Mission Union, Angel Tree, Handbells, MOPS Mentor, Counting Committee, Drama, and Pastor Search Committee. Her missions were not limited to local activities; she participated in several mission trips both domestically and internationally through her church.
Travel was a significant part of Vicki's life. She and Richard traveled by RV across all 48 contiguous states and explored Alaska and Hawaii. Their extensive travels also took them through Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and she and her husband lived in Japan for 9 months, creating countless cherished memories. Together with her daughter and granddaughter, she explored Italy, enjoyed a safari in South Africa with her son, and remarkably at the age of 77, embarked on a solo adventure to the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Vicki was also actively involved in her community through volunteering at Parr's Nursing Home and engaging in various social and volunteer groups, including Mahjong, the Red Hats Society, Locks of Love, Scarlet Hope, the Women's Club of Louisville, Bunko groups, Silver Dames, and multiple book clubs. Splitting her time between Louisville and Decatur, Georgia, she also attended First Baptist Church of Decatur.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Richard Bierman; her children, Katie Bierman (Tim Roberson) and Chris Bierman (Grace Freundlich); her granddaughter, Jessie Victoria Roberson; her sister, Linda Breeze Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vicki is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and William Breeze; and her brother, Michael Breeze.
A visitation will be held on November 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM at Westport Road Baptist Church, located at 9705 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY, 40241. Family and friends are invited to a reception at the church following the celebration of life.
