Obituary of James Guido Ferrasci
James "Jim" Guido Ferrasci passed away September 7, 2023, in his Salinas, California home. Born April 27, 1928, in Salinas, Jim was the beloved husband of Kathy Ferrasci, loving father of Margie Bales (Jason) of Fresno, and proud grandfather of Bryson and Amanda, also of Fresno. He is survived by his brother Jack Ferrasci (Nettie) of Soledad, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Achille and Lucia Ferrasci, and his brother Aly Ferrasci.
Jim graduated from Salinas High School. After graduation he worked for Gabilan Iron before being drafted into the Army in 1951 to serve in the Korean War. Following his military service, Jim worked with Catalytic Construction at Firestone and later worked at the Moss Landing Power Plant for PG&E. His hard work and expertise made a lasting impact on those he worked with.
Jim found solace and strength in his faith and was an active member of Sacred Heart and Madonna del Sasso Parishes. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #5140 and PG&E Retirees Club.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E. Laurel Drive, Salinas, CA 93906. Burial will follow on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 1:00 in Valley Catholic Cemetery, 2401 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville, California 95076.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Notre Dame High School Foundation or to VNA & Hospice of Monterey, CA; to honor Jim's memory and support causes close to his heart.
Jim Ferrasci will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
