James Gregory Geragotelis, aged 71, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
James moved to the United States as a young man, profoundly impacting his community and the lives of those around him. His journey in America began at 19 when he arrived seeking new opportunities. His first job was as a dishwasher in a Greek restaurant in Newark a humble start that set the stage for his remarkable work ethic. He also worked on a Greek freight ship before establishing his own business, Jaguar Builders. As a contractor, James specialized in painting bridges and sandblasting water storage tanks, earning respect in his field for his dedication and skills.
Beyond his professional achievements, James was a man beloved by many. He met his wife, Carol, in 1983, and they married in 1990, creating a life filled with love and mutual admiration. James's ability to speak six languages and his exceptional culinary skills brought joy to their home. His wife often remarked that life with him was never dull.
An avid fisherman, James found peace and pleasure in fishing, a hobby that allowed him to enjoy nature and relax away from his busy work life.
James is survived by his loving wife, Carol; daughter Alane and sisters Tasula and Titcha. He is predeceased by his brothers, John and George and sister Persa.

We are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend, Jimmy. Our hearts are filled with so many cherished memories, but one that stands out is his passion for cooking. We will never forget the times he invited us over for mezze, where he would prepare a spread fit for royalty, ensuring everyone felt welcome and loved. Jimmy, you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We will miss you deeply.

Our heartfelt condolences to Carol and the entire family.

With love always,
Manoli, Sofia Sklavounos, and kids
