James Henry Gieselman (86), of Troy, IL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3rd, 2026 surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 28, 1939, in Pike County, Indiana.

Jim married Peggy Finazzo in Granite City, IL on January 30, 1988.

The loving husband, father, and grandfather was a member of the Wood River Missionary Baptist Church. He retired 26 years ago from Dial Corporation in St. Louis. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School, spending time with family, reading, watching westerns, word search, fishing, camping, and gardening.

Jim is survived by his two children Larry (Linda) Gieselman of St. Jacob, IL and Terri Jo (Christopher) Cook of St. Louis, MO; three brothers: Don (Beverly) Gieselman of Troy, IL, Steve (Karen) Gieselman, and Terry (Janet) Gieselman both from Dripping Springs, TX; two grandchildren: Katie (Benjamin) Kist of Perryville, MO and Michael (Murphy) Gieselman of Granite City, IL and great grandchild, Jacob Kist. Also survived by 3 stepchildren: Linda Catoe of Paisley, FL; Annette (Chris) Keith of Axson, GA, and Willie Finazzo of Granite City, IL, along with numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his wife Peggy, Jim was preceded in death by his son Darrell Gieselman; his parents, Loris and Cleva Bronice (Roe) Gieselman; sister Emma Lou (Robert) Collins; and half siblings: Ralph (Vera) Gieselman and Ruth (Gieselman) Nelson.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
