James E. “Tony” Gill, 86, of Hinton passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at his home with his family by his side following a long illness.
Born March 15, 1936 at Talcott he was the son of the late James William and Sadie E. Meadows Gill. James was an auto mechanic and will be missed by many loved ones.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by and infant son, Gregory Allen Gill, daughter, Betty Jo Crowe; stepson, David Crouse; two sons in law, Bobby Crowe and Roy Adkins; five brothers, Walter Gill, Russel “Tuck” Gill, Tom Gill, Nathan Gill and Cecil Gill; three sisters, Imogene Ratliff, Madeline Allen and and infant sister, Nellie Gill and his former wife Joyce K. Crouse Gill.
Survived by seven children, Ruth Ann Adkins of Hinton, Lori Lothery and husband Bennie of Coeburn, VA, Lisa Shinaver and husband Scott of Greenville, Cheryl Lothery and husband Wiley Jr. of Peterstown, James R. Gill and wife Michelle of Greenville, Walter Gill of Brewer, MS, Jason Gill and companion Bonnie Ward, of Hinton, one brother, Lee Gill and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James will be laid to rest at the Gill Cemetery in Hilldale and there will be no services at this time.
