James A. Giuffre, a man of courage, spirit, and love, passed away peacefully in Florida on May 17, 2025, at the age of 50.
Born on January 20, 1975, in Malden, MA, James was a beacon of strength and joy to all who knew him. His life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his passions. James is survived by his beloved wife, Fatima Mae Cortes Nalam, whose love and partnership were a constant source of strength and happiness in his life. He was the cherished son of the late James and Pina (Margareci) Giuffre, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. His siblings, Josephine Lee, Catherine Renand, Linda Farris, and Joseph Giuffre, will fondly remember James for his boundless energy and infectious laughter that brought light into every family gathering.
Above all, James was a devoted father to his children, James Giuffre Jr. and Sheene Ann Marie Nalam Socias. He instilled in them the same courage and love that defined his own life. His legacy will live on through them, as they carry forward the lessons and memories he shared.
A proud United States Army Combat Veteran, James served his country with honor and distinction. His bravery and commitment to service were hallmarks of his character, earning him the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him.
James continued to lead by example, actively participating in St. Anthony's society in the North End of Boston and the American Pool Association, where he shared his love for billiards with fellow enthusiasts. James's interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt. He had a particular passion for building trucks, a hobby that showcased his meticulous nature and creative spirit. His handywork was not just a pastime but a reflection of his ability to construct and nurture the things he loved.
Family and friends will honor James's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston, on Tuesday, May 27th from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph - St. Lazarus Church, Ashley Street, East Boston, on Wednesday, May 28th at 11:00 A.M. Please meet directly at the Church. Committal services will be private.
