James Grossnickle, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 26, 1943, Jim was a man whose life was full of rich stories and cherished memories, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him.

In his younger years, Jim began his career as a mechanic, a profession that sparked his lifelong passion for all things automotive. His heart belonged to the open road after he transitioned to a career as a truck driver, dedicating over 53 years to this craft. A true car enthusiast, Jim took great pride in his cherished 1956 Chevy 210, a symbol of his love for antique cars and the thrill of the automotive world. Known affectionately as a "car guy," he could often be found at swap meets, relishing the excitement of discovery, particularly during the renowned Pumpkin Run.

Jim's greatest joy was found at the race track, where he reveled in the adrenaline of the Southeast Gassers' events. The roar of engines and the thrill of competition brought him immeasurable happiness, creating treasured memories that he shared with friends and family.

He is survived by his devoted children: Jimmy (Anna) Grossnickle; Peggy Riley; Chris (Jacqualine) Grossnickle: Wayne (Jenny) Mullenix; Annette Bissinger; Debbie (Brett) Barnes; and Judy (Kevin) Groene; sister Wanda Grossnickle; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. His loving spirit and dedication to his family will continue to inspire them. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Thelma Grossnickle and his wife Shirley Jean Grossnickle.

A funeral service for Jim will be held at Evans Funeral Home in Goshen on September 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life. Visitation will take place at the same venue on September 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM, allowing all to pay their respects and honor his memory. Jim will be laid to rest in Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, Ohio.

As we remember Jim, we celebrate the fullness of his life, the countless moments shared, and the love he fostered within his family and among his friends. His legacy will forever be remembered in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
