I only got to meet Uncle Jim a couple times, but when my dad, John Reilly, took us to visit him and Aunt Joey, they did not disappoint. Uncle Jim was my inspiration to major in public relations at J-school, though I´m unsure if he knew it, and it´s served me well through an almost twenty year career with the Border Patrol.
Sadly, we all drifted apart as will sometimes happens in this life, but I´ve always thought fondly of Jim and Joey, and was proud of the life he and they lived. May he rest easy, knowing he´d done well. Belated condolences to all from a nephew and his family.

Shelly & Shauna , very sorry to hear of your pop passing.
It was always "Mr Heff "for me
Our relationship started early from school with young Jim.
A great man. Always listened, supportive, never judge mental with the antics of your brother, me and our friends.
I enjoyed having a beer at your parents home In Avalon. I run past your old home on the weekends it has not changed one bit.
I hope to someday retire there.
Your dad gave me an opportunity as a kid to go to a Super Bowl with all the bells and whistles a dream of a lifetime.
Hopefully he and Joey are having a glass of wine.
Love to hear your voices some day.

I did not know Mr. Heffernan, but one of my tasks at work is to check the obituaries. It is rare for me to come across such an interesting and exciting life as he led. Thank you for sharing his story and my condolences to all of those who loved him throughout his life.
