James "Larry" Hicks, age 75, of New Hope, AR, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
He was born on June 9, 1949 in Hope, AR, the son of Cecil and Floyce Hicks. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Hicks.
Larry married Sharon on July 19, 1975, where they spent 49 wonderful years together. During his working years he held multiple positions for Fed-Ex and UPS until his retirement in 1997. He also served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his career as a courier, he also held a Bachelors degree in Education.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hicks of New Hope, AR; his sons, Josh Hicks of Nevada, TX and Ryan Hicks of Glenwood, AR; his granddaughter, Chloë Hicks of Jessieville, AR; nephews, Ken Hicks and David Hicks; brothers and sisters in law, Ronnie(Pennye) O'Neal, Tony(Pam) Davis, Pierre(Verna) Davis, along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
