James Baker Hux of Halifax passed away May 14, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born in Hampton, VA on August 26, 1948 to the late Herbert Hux and the late Mary Coggins Hux. He was married to the late Norma Jane Hux.
James was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He loved gardening, hunting, raising beagles, fishing but especially loved his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jennifer Lee Stowers of Henderson, NC, Ashley Nicole Musick of Kitty Hawk, NC and Aaron James Hux of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Jordan Hux, Sophia Hux, Haley Hicks, Stella Hux, Christian Hux, Brian Stowers, Joshua Stowers, and Matthew Hux. Also surviving are his brothers, Billy Hux of Halifax and Kemp Hux of Portsmouth, VA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jane Hux; grandson Michael Kidd and one sister, Glynda Whalen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
