James N. “Jim” Lindberg, 89, of Galesburg, IL passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Jim was born August 26, 1934, in Galesburg, IL the son of Theodore and Dora (Brown) Lindberg. He was raised and educated in Galesburg, Graduating from Galesburg High School. After graduation, Jim enlisted with the United States Navy.
He married Jeanine Like in Galesburg in January 1960.
Jim worked for Yemm Chevrolet and Admiral.
Jim’s lifelong passion of playing his dobro, guitar and singing with his friends was his peace and happiness. Jim’s passion for adventure in the Colorado mountains filled every family vacation with hiking, rafting and exploring the west.
In his early years, he raced and built hot rods that turned into a career of restoring vintage cars.
Jim will be missed by his children, Laurie Lindberg and Jeff Lindberg; grandchildren, Samuel Stevens and Lucille (Joaquin Quiroga) Stevens; great granddaughter, Gwin June Stevens, daughter-in-law, Hayley Stevens and former wife, Jeanine Sundquist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
