Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 22, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for James "Jimmy" Boyd, 57, who passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Friday from 7:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday.
Rev. George Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Michele Boyd and Stephanie Babineaux. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diana Charles Boyd; daughters, Jillie (Michael, Sr.) Wiltz and Jeanea Boyd; brothers, Joseph (Catina) Boyd and Edward (Tashana) Boyd; sister, Delores (Terry) Spiller; grandchildren, Michael Wiltz, Jr., Maverick Wiltz, Meliah Wiltz, Emeri Davis, Remi Davis and Devyn Wiltz; father-in-law Ulyesses Charles, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Prenella (Raymond) Charles and Sharah (Clarence) Charles; brothers-in-law, Joseph Anthony (Barbara) Brown, Russell (Centrell) Charles and Ulyesses Charles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Wilma St. Julien Boyd; mother-in-law, Edna Brown Charles; maternal grandparents, Edward and Devine St. Julian; and paternal grandparents, Alex and Bernadette Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Boyd, Branson Boyd, Cohen Boyd, Demarcus Taylor, Michael Wiltz, Sr. and Winslow Journet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Boyd, Edward Boyd, Raymond St. Julien, Wilbert St. Julien, Harold St. Julien, Ulyesses Charles, Sr., Desrol Brown, Henry Derouselle, Willie Aubrey, Clifton Sylvester, Keith Roberts, Joseph Brown, Rocky Batiste, Leroy Alexander, Russell Charles, Ulyesses Charles, Jr., Raymond Frederick, Sr., and Clarence Lewis.
