James “Jimmy” Gordon Noethe, 47, of Marion, Iowa, died Friday, October 10, 2025. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

James was born on May 22, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, the son of James L. and Janet (Brown) Noethe. He graduated from Jefferson High School and married Joni Fuchs on April 17, 1999. A devoted Cubs fan, James was known for his tech savvy, love of cooking, and ever-growing collections. He was always learning and mastering something new. James was never one to accept “no” for an answer, he would always find a way to get things done. James welcomed every challenge with determination and creativity. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Joni Noethe; children, Dalan Noethe, Dartanian Noethe, and Rianne Noethe (Ahvey); two sisters; one brother, many nieces and nephews; and his cats, Duncan, Micah, Finnegan, and Fiona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janet Noethe; his brother, Scott Noethe; and his cat, Toby.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
