James Bondurant Johnson, Jr., age 79 of Tuscaloosa, passed away October 14, 2023 at his residence. Services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the chapel.
He is preceded in death by his parents; James B. Johnson, Sr. and Ruth Langham Johnson.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Mattison Johnson, sons; James Michael Johnson, Sr. (Kasey), and William Randall Johnson, sister; Patricia Johnson Allen (Richard), brother; Donald Johnson (Jane),grandchildren; James Michael Johnson, Jr., Mary Louise Campbell Johnson, nephews; Jeremy Johnson (Kristy), Jamie Johnson (Jessica), Ricky Allen (Leigh), Greg Mattison (Amy).
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Thad Pate, Richard Allen, Greg Mattison, and Bill Mattison.
Honorary pallbearers are friends of Skyland Boulevard Baptist Church, former Bell South employees, friends of H&R Block, Friends of Jackson Hewit, neighbors of South Ridge neighborhood.
