James Howard "Soul" Jones

James Howard "Soul" Jones, age 56, of Crockett passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at MD Anderson in Houston. James was born July 29, 1969 in Crockett, Texas to parents, Ed McDaniel and Climmie Jones. He worked for Wal-Mart Distribution Center for 27 years and was a member of the Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church.
Soul is survived by his children, Jaymal Jones of Huntsville, Dejanna Jones of Jonesboro, GA, Teja Jones of Palestine; grandchildren, Kevin Harris of Jonesboro, GA, Averii Harris of Jonesboro, GA, Alanii Jones of Palestine; mother of his children, Andrea Senegal of Crockett; sisters, Stephanie Jones of Lubbock, Alisa Jones of Crockett; niece and nephew, Dejannae Warfield and Levester Jones; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by mother, Climmie Jones; baby twin boy; grandparents, Viola and Odell Jones.
Letter to Superman:
"How do I say goodbye? I still can't quite come up with the words, even a million tears can't bring you back, I know because I've cried them. My mind knows you're in a better place where there is no worries, you're at peace, and I understand. I just wish I could explain that to my heart. Job well done, Daddy, I got it from here."

A memorial service for James Howard "Soul" Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Harry Fred Scott officiating.
