Mary Griffin Wells

Mary Griffin Wells, age 85, of Tadmor passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Enchanted Pines Assisted Living in Crockett. Mary was born March 18, 1940 in Sour Lake to parents, Theron Mike Griffin and Hazel Morgan Griffin. After marrying Kenneth Wells on December 22, 1958, they built a wonderful family life together raising their two children. Her love for her family showed in her caregiving, keeping an immaculate house, cooking, making candy, and baking cookies. Crafting, gardening, painting, music and photography were things that she enjoyed, and Mary was well known for her sweet personality and child-like view of the world, enjoying everything in God's creation. She loved spending time with and playing games with friends. Mary was a longtime member of the Ratcliff Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her children, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bo Parrish of Kennard, son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Teresa Wells of Tadmor; grandchildren, Jamie Parrish, Phil Parrish and wife, Maria, Melissa Riley, Charles Justin Wells and wife, Misty; great-grandchildren, Michael Sheffield, David Sheffield, Sarah Parrish, Jace McCall Riley and wife, Sarah, Kariana Riley, Julie Riley, Prestin Charles Wells and wife, Kharah and Parker Charles Wells; great-great-granddaughter, Holland McCall Riley and one on the way; brother, Morris Griffin and wife, Juliet of Bunkie, LA; special niece, Melinda Gardner of New Caney; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Charles Wells; father, Theron Griffin; mother and stepfather, Hazel Griffin Sides and Edgar Sides; brother, George Griffin; and sister, Lucille McGee.

Funeral services for Mary Griffin Wells will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2025 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
