Kay Brush Jennings, age 73, of Crockett passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands. Kay was born July 16, 1952 in Athens to parents, Harley Brush and Shirley Oliver Brush. She graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena and then attended San Jacinto Jr. College.
Kay was an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician working for the Houston County Emergency Medical Service for many years. She was very passionate about her EMT job and her coworkers which she considered her closest "family" friends. She had a big love for animals, gardening, being outside, cooking and baking which were things that Kay enjoyed sharing with her family who she loved with all her heart.
Kay is survived by daughters, Stacy Adkins and husband, Don of Crockett, Stephanie Bartenope and husband, Tony of Bryan; grandsons, Justin Whiddon of Benton, Louisiana, Jeremy Whiddon of Porter Springs, Maxx Bartenope of Bryan, Savannah Bartenope of Smithfield, Virginia, Matt Adkins of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Mark Adkins of Hendersonville, Tennessee; several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Jasper Jennings; parents, Harley and Shirley Brush; sister, Karen Brush.
Funeral services for Kay Brush Jennings will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Leon Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to service.
