Doris is survived by sons, Jimmy D. Corbitt and wife, Bobbi of Stinnett, Danny K. Corbitt and wife, Sallie of Highland Village, Tommy G. Corbitt and wife, Angie of Crockett; grandchildren, Jeni Janek of West, Brandon Corbitt of Wyoming, Andrew Corbitt of Lakeway, Katie Thompson of Colleyville, Hayley Corbitt of Dallas, J. T. Corbitt of Fulshear, Ashton Miller of North Lake, Kylie Hutto Nacogdoches; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Gunnels of Gatesville, Billy Gunnels of Burneyville, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Elbert Corbitt; grandson, Kelly Corbitt; parents, Thell and Grace Corbitt; brothers, Ernest Gunnels, James Gunnels, Arlon Gunnels; and sister, Violet Teal.
Funeral services for Doris Gunnels Corbitt will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Gibson and Dr. Reggie Gregory officiating. Interment will follow at the Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michelle Lynn Holsey Foundation P. O. Box 652 Crockett, Texas 75835.
