James Kaisi, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 9, 2025, after a year and a half long battle with cancer. James was surrounded by his loved ones as he passed.
James was born in Eureka California, on July 26, 1959, to Ralph E. Kaisi and Irene Kaisi. He came home to five older siblings, Karen, Sue, Tom, Chris, and Melanie. Seven years later they welcomed another sibling, Tonya. James also had a very special bond with his nephew Ken Hopkins. They are three months apart and grew up like brothers. Ken was with James until his last breath.
James married his first wife and took on the role of dad to her son, Jeremiah. They later went on to have son Derek. James was so proud of his boys! James married his wife Jayme in July of 1996, and he once again took on the role of dad to Jayme's daughter Shannon. She quickly became Daddy's little girl and the two of them had a very special bond up until his passing. In August of 2005, James, Jayme and Shannon moved to Ogden Utah and that is where they made their permanent home. They always had an open-door policy for their kids' friends and along the way they accumulated several very special "extra" kids. Jay, Christa, Aurora and most importantly Cody! Over the years, James and Jayme, became grandparents to their 8 grandchildren, Kezney, Frankie, Ally, Brooklin, Marshall, Mila, Carter and Gianni, along with bonus granddaughter Roxy! Being a grandpa, brought James so much joy and happiness. He would tell you that it was his biggest accomplishment!
His son Jeremiah said it best by saying that his dad "loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, talking to family and friends, being a grandpa, and watching the Raiders play football!" James spent most of his time working on drilling rigs. He always said that drilling was in his blood. His career took him all over the world, and he made many friends and "rotary brothers" while working in South America and the Middle East. James will be missed by so many people worldwide!
James is survived by his wife Jayme, children Jeremiah, Derek, Shannon and Cody, eight beautiful grandchildren and six siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Irene.
A viewing will be held Monday April 14 at Myers Mortuary. 845 Washington Blvd from 6pm until 8pm. Please join us to say goodbye to James.
In remembering James, we invite you to leave your memories and upload photos to our memorial page. Each memory shared and each photograph posted will serve as a reminder of the profound impact James had on our lives.
