James "Calvin" Kellam, son of the late James Milton Kellam and
Jazie Ann Kellam, was born on November 24, 1953, in
Northampton County, Virginia. He peacefully entered into eternal
rest at his residence in Parksley, Virginia on Sunday, November 3,
2024.
"Calvin" or "Nose" as he was mostly called by everyone that knew
him, received his education in the Northampton County public school
system. He later moved to New Jersey where he worked in factories
until returning back to his hometown of VA where he started working
in the laundry department at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox,
Virginia. On May 23, 1978, Calvin started working for Perdue Farms
in Accomac, Virginia as a general laborer until he decided to retire in
2015 after 37 long years.
Anyone that knew Calvin knew that he didn't mind helping out
anyone that he could, whether it was fixing a lawnmower or doing
some work on your car, it wasn't too much he couldn't do. He often
enjoyed spending time with his daughter, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,
Cecil and Steve Kellam.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: the apple of his eye, daughter,
Tomekia Williams of New Church, Virginia; two grandchildren,
Emani Sharp and Dwayne Tull, Jr., of New Church, Virginia; one
great-granddaughter, Jae'Lynn Sharp of New Church, Virginia;
three brothers, Billy Kellam of New Castle, Delaware, Herman
(Wilda) Kellam of West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Phillip
Kellam of Savageville, Virginia; two sisters, Faye Quivers of Newport
News, Virginia and Joyce Kellam of Weirwood, Virginia; one uncle,
Randolph Mapp of Weirwood, Virginia; two aunts, Bessie Wynn and
Virginia Harmon of Nassawadox, Virginia; one uncle-in-law, William
Webb of Nassawadox, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and a few special friends and neighbors, including Mike and
Cindy Bull and Chop Parker.
