James Koering Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 12, 2024.
James M. Koering, age 57, passed away on Wednesday, July 10 at the Three Links Care Center of Northfield. James was born on May 22, 1967 in Minneapolis, the son of Edward and Irene (Spraguer) Koering.
James was our baby brother. Who would ever have thought that he would be the first to go. James had a stroke about 4 years ago and was not able to return to work because he lost the use of his left side. It was a tough 4 years for James as he was so young. He spent his time at the care center watching the Twins on television. He loved playing bingo and winning stuffed animals as prizes. He was in a strong competition with his roommate. On June 14th, 2024 we found out that James had stage 4 lung cancer that was spread throughout his body. He was placed in hospice and passed from us quite quickly.
As per James's request, the memorial service will be a private service in the presence of close family.
James is survived by his siblings, Peggy (Bryan) Fishbaugher, Anne Olson, Beth (Tim) Osterlund, Tim Koering; 10 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; as well as his other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby brother, Daniel; and a great nephew, Shawn.
