James Ivan Kroubetz
Jim was born in Olivia MN, October 17th 1958 and passed away peacefully with family by his side, on January 7th 2025.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father (Margaret and Ivan), granddaughter (Ivy), and his niece (Tracey).
Jim is survived by his children, Joshua, Nicole, and Brandy; his siblings, Wayne, Bonnie, Faye, David, Daniel; grandchildren, Ajax, Ayden, JuLee, Robin, Anastasia, Darius, Eros and Dexter; and his great grandchildren, Ariah, Donovan, and Ryan.
Not a single person can say that Jim was not a sweet, friendly guy.
Jim was a man of few words but a man who enjoyed activities with his family. You would often see him attending one of the many gatherings on the hill like the Christmas play, back yard bonfire, river tubing, or watching the Vikings game at the house.
In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed WWE and NASCAR. His entire home was themed Dale Earnhardt. Jim also used to be an avid bowler, playing in the Park Rapid Leagues.
Jim helped with constructing one of the largest Paul Bunyan Statues ever built and it still stands today in Akeley MN.
Jim was the kind of guy that when you brought over the grandchildren He was on the floor playing with them. He was the guy with the Leatherman opening up the batteries so the kids can play with their new Christmas toys. He was the man that when you had a problem, he would quietly find a way to solve it, and if he didn't, he would tell you how he tried.
There will never be another man that could hold so much kindness, generosity, and big heart.
Jim will be forever missed and forever loved.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the White Oak Church in Chamberlain (South Hwy 64 in rural Akeley).
