James LaBorde Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dennard First National Funeral Home - Winnsboro on Jun. 25, 2025.
James E. LaBorde, born on May 22, 1950, entered his heavenly home on January 25, 2025. A man of deep faith, enduring love, and unwavering kindness, he lived a life that enriched everyone around him.
He was the devoted husband of 53 years to Judy W. LaBorde, the love of his life, and his greatest inspiration. Guided by his faith and natural talent as a handyman, he found joy in using his creativity to bring ideas to life, crafting and fixing with care and purpose. Together, they built a legacy of family, faith, and cherished memories.
James served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Crowville. He was also an active member of Campers on Mission, combining his love of community and service in meaningful ways.
Professionally, he was a talented welder and fitter, whose hard work and craftsmanship left a lasting impression. In his retirement, James continued to embrace his passions, including woodworking, welding, tending to his quails and chickens and, above all, spending time with his great-grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife, Judy W. LaBorde; his children, Scott LaBorde, Sharon LaBorde Boothe (Alex), and Greg LaBorde (Becca); his grandchildren Ava Boothe (Tyler), Indya Boothe Pruitt (Hunter), and Mollie LaBorde; and his great-grandchildren Peyton and Josephine Pruitt, Owen and Jenson LaBorde, and Colton Easterling. He is also survived by his siblings Dale LaBorde (Linda), Patsy White (Dale), Janie Williams (Ken), Freddy Joe LaBorde, and Kay Casiday (Lynn).
He was preceded in death by his father, James Cleon "Humpy" LaBorde, and his mother, Odean Weaver LaBorde.
James's life and legacy of faith, love, and craftsmanship will be honored with a visitation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dennard First National Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 10 am at First Baptist Church of Crowville. Interment will follow in Coax Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Campers on Mission or Point of Life Community Church, reflecting his giving spirit.
