James Richard Lamb, 89, formerly of Middle Run Road Weston, went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at Grenich Care Home of Bunker Hill, WV. He was born in Alum Bridge, WV on December 7th, 1935: son of the late Arnold Lamb and Ruth (Price) Lamb. On October 16th, 1955, he married Mary Anne (John) Lamb, who survives.
Cherishing Jim's memory is the love of his life, Mary Anne, daughter: Anna Beth Highland and husband Chad of Gahanna, OH, son: Mark Lamb, who preceded him in death and daughter-in-law: Linda Lamb of Bunker Hill, WV, 5 grandchildren: Drew (Katie) Lamb, Brittany (Mike) Ware, Alexis Highland, Nathan Highland and Joshua Highland and 4 great grandchildren: Evelyn Ware, Oliver Ware, Jacob Lamb and Logan Lamb. Also cherishing his memory is his sister: Frances Turner of Jane Lew and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and son Mark, Jim was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Paul, Clarence and Robert Lamb and one sister: Kitty Collins.
Jim, a retired salesman, started his career at Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company selling throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. He later was employed by Parts Associates, Inc. and retired from Kimball Midwest at the age of 80. He attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Weston, where he proudly sang in the choir, was in the Methodist Men's Group and enjoyed planting the flowers at the church. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army National Guards.
Jim was an avid golfer and was a Board of Director's member and past president of the Deerfield Country Club. He was a man of many interests and talents, including coin collecting, gardening, a self-taught carpenter and artist. He loved to teach his skills to whoever wanted to learn.
His hardworking nature was balanced by his love for Crown Royal, Stella Artois, and red wine. He was a socialite, he loved to be around people in general. Most of all, Jim loved his grandkids and spending time with family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends may gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 from 11 am until 1 pm. Funeral services will start at 1 pm from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Joe Shreve officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard. Jim and I first met when we were in the First Grade at the McDonald School in Pricetown. When they closed the School we were bused to Weston Central for 6 years, then over to the Junior High and then Weston High where we graduated with the Class of 1955. So we go back a long ways. Will miss his ornery smile!
