James “Jim” S. Lime, 83, of Indianapolis passed away on October 27, 2023. Jim was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 24, 1940, to parents, Marion and Willie Lime. Jim was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1965. On May 14, 1960, Jim married the love of his life, Dorothy (Parrish) Lime. Together they spent 63 years creating a wonderful life full of cherished memories. In earlier years, Jim enjoyed bird watching and fishing. Jim was an avid Notre Dame fan. He and his family attended many football games together. He and his wife were members of Nativity Catholic Church. It was simple, to know Jim was to love him. He never knew a stranger, and brightened any room he was in. Jim will be missed sorely by all the lives he has touched.  

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Lime of Indianapolis, IN; his daughter, Angela (Stephen) Crumlin of New Palestine, IN; his grandchildren, Mary Crumlin and James Crumlin of New Palestine, IN; and his siblings, Richard (Darlene) Lime and Marion (Ann) Lime. 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Marion F. Lime and Willie P. (Hale) Lime; and his siblings, Donald Lime, David Lime, and Billy Lime.  

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4PM-7:30PM with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. A mass will be held the following day at 11AM at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 S Eastern Ave Indianapolis, IN 46239.
