James Richard Luzier, age 41, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, of acute medical complications, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.
He was born July 6, 1984, in Spangler, PA, a son of Richard Luzier and Norma Peddicord.
James graduated from Highlands Senior High School, class of 2002. He then went on to serve in the U.S Army, serving in the Operation Iraqi Freedom as he was stationed in Taji. He earned various awards throughout his service, including a combat action badge, Army commendation medal, and National Defense service medal. James was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan. He enjoyed playing golf and his co-ed softball league.
He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Maureen Esper.
James is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Esper; sister, Samantha Luzier-Lagon (David); brother, Gordon Luzier (Laura). He is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on the family at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Friday, August 29th, from 2 pm until the time of memorial service there at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help cover funeral expenses.
