Gregory L. Meyer

Gregory L. Meyer, age 64, of Millcreek Twp., passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 22, 2025. He was born in Erie on March 10, 1961, son of Rose (Rogala) Meyer McLaren and the late Gary Meyer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Kathi Meyer and stepfather Thomas McLaren.

Greg was a graduate of Academy High School. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union Local #449 and retired from the Scobell Company, after 42 years of service. Greg was an avid bowler, winning the Erie Times News Junior Bowling Tournament and was the proud holder of seven "300" games and two "800" series. He was a member of the Sunflower Club and a lifelong member of the East Erie Turners. Most of all he loved his grandchildren, enjoyed taking care of them, and spending all the time he could with them. He was a passionate Cleveland sports fan especially the Browns and Indians and enjoyed watching horse racing. Greg was known in his neighborhood for having a meticulous yard and he took great pride in his yardwork.

In addition, to his mother, Greg is survived by his three children, Sarah, Sabrina and Nick Meyer; two grandchildren, Airianna Kelley and Liam Alicea-Torres; siblings, Cheryl (Bruce) Ritts, Robin (Mark) Manna and Todd Meyer and nieces and nephews, Nicole Petruso, Paul (Lindsay) Petruso, Matthew Petruso, Danielle (David) Emanuel and Gary Meyer.

Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the time of sharing at 5:00 PM.
