Jeremy Detwiler, 49, of Erie, PA, passed away on August 22nd. A devoted husband, father, and friend, Jeremy's life was a testament to kindness, humor, and quiet strength.

Born in York, PA, to Robin and Sheila Detwiler, Jeremy brought light and laughter wherever he went. Known for his wit and quick smile, he had an unmatched ability to lift spirits and brighten the days of those around him. Whether it was through a well-timed joke or a simple gesture of help, Jeremy made people feel seen, supported, and valued.

He was a tireless worker, someone who believed in showing up-whether it was for a job, a friend in need, or cheering from the sidelines at his sons' events. Jeremy's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a deeply involved and loving father to Ethan and Jack, and a steady, compassionate partner to his wife, Meghan (Chaplain) Detwiler. His family was the center of his world, and he never let a day pass without reminding them how much they were loved.

Jeremy's legacy lives on in the laughter of his sons, the warmth he gave to his community, and the countless lives he touched with his generosity and spirit.

He is survived by his wife Meghan, and their sons, Ethan and Jackson. He is also survived by his parents, Rob and Sheila Detwiler, his sisters, Cindy Vedder, Julie Mikhail, and Faith Detwiler as well as their families; in-laws, Mike and Diane Chaplain. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

Jeremy grew up in Erie, PA, attended Central High School and Penn State Behrend. He was a military veteran of both the Army and Army National Guard. He worked at Lowes and later at UPS.

Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, on Tuesday, August 26th, from 4 pm until a memorial service at 7:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Detwiler family, 1595 West 38th Street, Erie, PA, 16508. All funds will be used for Jeremy's sons' education.

I went to high school with Jeremy and what I just read describes him perfectly. This is a shock and I am so saddened that he is gone so young. Sending condolences and prayers for peace and comfort to his wife, sons and entire family.
