James Eugene Manning, aged 71, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his mother's home in Kansas City, Missouri on May 22,2025. Born December 10, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Emerson Manning and Veda Maxine (Gray) Bower. He was a graduate of Claymont High school in 1972.
James worked many different jobs throughout his life. In his free time he enjoyed his love of fishing, playing guitar, singing, music in general, but most importantly his love for friends and family. James never met a stranger and would literally give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He would give without concern about himself and love those he cherished fiercely.
James is proceeded in death by his father James Emerson Manning, his Dad Herbert Bower, sisters; Nettie Jane Bower, and Tammy Manning Rendorn, brothers; Bryan K. Manning,and Kevin Manning. His grandparents, aunts and uncles.
James is survived by his mother, Veda Maxine Bower of Kansas City, Mo, his children Heather (David) Harper of Bolivar, Ohio, Bryan J. Manning of Uhrichsville,Ohio, grandchildren; Chase, McKinzie, and Rylee Harper all of Bolivar, Ohio, sister Dixie (Kirk) Fuller of Kansas City, Kansas, brothers Rick (Susie) Bower of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Doug (Kathy) Bower of Uhrichsville, Ohio and Craig Manning of Roanoke, Virginia. And many nieces, nephews, family, and dear friends.
Memorial services are planned for 1PM Friday, May 30, 2025, at Mount Washington United Methodist Church, 584 S. Arlington, Independence, MO 64053. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date in Ohio.
