James A. "Jimmy" Mantz, 68, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 at AHN in Wexford.
James was born in New Castle on July 6th, 1955 to Helen Mantz of Ellwood City. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1974. Jimmy then graduated from Aeronomy School in Lake City, Florida where he studied golf course management and aeronomy. Over the years he had worked at numerous golf courses and for the past 25 years at Olde Stonewall Golf Club as the golf course manager. He is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Jimmy enjoyed playing golf, remote control cars, racing quads in his younger years, watching NASCAR, rooting for Notre Dame, and most of all time spent with his family.
He is survived by his mother Helen, his longtime companion Janeen Weisz and her children Jessica Patterson and Jamie Barile, her grandchildren Makenna, Kaylee, and Craig, his aunt Joan Clark of TN, and his very special cousins Logan and Ryan Gibbons. He is also survived by and will be sadly missed by numerous other cousins and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by Jannen's daughter Kristin Barile, maternal grandparents James and Mary Mantz, and aunts and uncles Tim and Terri O'Brien, Carl "Rizzo" and Geri Mantz, and Chuck Clark.
A private Blessing Service for Jimmy will be held for the family at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Father Joseph Freedy officiating. Inurnment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jimmy's name may be made to: Club Hope, 237 Sixth St., Ellwood City, Pa 16117.
