James Russell McVay

James "Jim" Russell McVay, made his return home to Jesus on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at age 72. Jim was born in Sidney, Ohio July 18, 1952, to the late Patricia and Jerry McVay. He was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jim relocated to Columbus, Ohio at the age of 9. Growing up he was active in Boy Scouts. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School, Class of 1970, where he was on the track team. Jim worked for many years for Kokosing Construction and retired from there. He loved reading, music, good recipes and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but most of all his great grandchildren. He had a passion for walking, often with friends from the walking club. He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda McVay; parents, Patricia and Jerry McVay; brothers, Jeff and Bruce McVay.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Crystal and Jennifer; grandchildren, Christian, Hannah, Gabriel, Alexander, Delbert, and Dexter; great grandchildren, Remy, Romany, and Rylen. sister, Cathy (Tom) Krebs; brothers Mark (Karen) and Scott McVay. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jim on Thursday February 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at O.R.Woodyard Co. South High St. Chapel 1346 S. High St Columbus, Oh. 43207.
