James Dennis "Jim" Megerle

James "Jim" Dennis Megerle, 78 of Covington, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence. Jim was born on May 29, 1946, to the late Robert and Velma Megerle. He was a retired Meat Cutter with Bluegrass Meats. Jim loved golfing, hunting, fishing, playing the lottery and going to the casino. He was an avid sports fan favoring the Reds, Bengals, and UK. Jim's greatest time was spent with his family, sitting on his deck, telling his stories and listening to bluegrass music. He enjoyed going to the mountains and vacationing to Arizona to see his brothers and family. He was preceded in death by his son: Keith Megerle; grandsons: Chase and Chance Robinson; brothers: Bobby Carl Megerle and Jerry Megerle; sister: JoAnne Campbell; sister-in-law: Marianna Megerle. James is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Darlene Megerle; son: Brad Megerle; daughters: Sugar (Brian) Cole and Jill Robinson; brothers: Jeff (Christie) Megerle and Johnny (Janice) Megerle; sister-in-law: Martha Megerle; grandchildren: Joshua, Shane, Ashley, Brianna, Steven, Zachary, Hunter and Brittany; 8 great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 2:00PM until the time of funeral service 4:00PM at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 west 6th street, Covington, KY 41011. Memorial donations in James' name may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators. The family's preferred florist is Art Floral in Covington, KY.
