James Stanley Michalak

James Stanley Michalak, age 69, of Shelton, entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2025, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. He is the beloved husband of 35 years of Roxanna T. (Tirozzi) Michalak. James was born in Derby on January 15, 1956, son of the late Stanley Joseph Michalak Jr. and Genevieve Harriet (Bak) Michalak, and was a lifelong resident of Shelton.
He served his country with the United States Air Force and worked in Highway Maintenance for the State of CT Department of Transportation. James enjoyed gardening and was an avid hockey fan. He also loved spending time on the farm with his best friend, Joseph Moncheski.
He is the beloved father of Tatianna Michalak and her fiancé, Garrett Beckwith. James is also survived by a brother, Theodore Michalak, a sister, Maryann Marrotte, nieces and nephews Jason and Matthew Marrotte, and Clare Michalak, his great-nephews Jayden and George Marrotte, and his weiner dog Gretzky and cat Louis.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses, staff, Dr. Keith O'Brien, Dr. David Ahlborn, Dr. Glen Reznokoff, and Dr. Christine Tamasden at St. Vincent's.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home in Derby, CT, and are private.
