We had the privilege of meeting Jacques many years ago in Chapel Hill. He was one of the most amazing individuals, inspiring, genuine and a true patriot. One of this worlds finest. A true role model. He spoke with such joy about his family, fishing, adventures and certainly his wife.

I was saddened to find this obituary for Mr Michienzi. I work at Whole Foods in Chapel Hill where I met Mr Michienzi many years ago. We had many chats about his fly fishing trips to Alaska, and his military career. He was such a positive and caring man. He was in his late nineties when I last saw him in the store. He was a fascinating man to have known. May he rest in peace

Another great American Patriot and distinguished soldier now lies in honored glory as God's newest angel. Colonel Michienzi's selfless service to our great nation certainly inculcates the moniker "Duty-Honor-Country." His heroism is replete with three awards of the Combat Infantry Badge, Airborne and Ranger Tab coupled with every military valor award up to the Distinguished Service Cross; that says it all. Although he was 20 years my senior, I would have been most honored to have known and served with him. May God's loving hand guide each family and loved ones as they long remember the valorous, sterling legacy of Colonel Michienzi. Earl Hansford Grubbs, Retired Army Officer and Airborne Ranger Aviator
