James O'Donnell Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James "Jay" O'Donnell, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Jay was taken from us too early, leaving a void that can never be filled. His presence in our lives will forever be cherished and deeply missed.
Jay was born on February 10, 1970, to Sandra and the late William O'Donnell, who showered him with love and instilled in him values that shaped the remarkable man he became. Throughout his life, Jay's unwavering dedication to his family was evident in every action he took. At the age of 16, he met the love of his life, Suzanne Duffy O'Donnell, and from that moment on, their lives intertwined in a beautiful journey of love and togetherness.
In 1994, Jay and Sue exchanged heartfelt vows, promising to stand by each other's side through thick and thin. Through the highs and lows, their bond only grew stronger, filled with love, respect, and unwavering support. Jay's love for his children, Megan and Ryan, knew no bounds. They were his pride and joy, the light of his life. His selflessness and devotion to their happiness were unmatched, and every moment spent with them was precious to him.
One of Jay's greatest joys in life was watching Ryan play football. He would cheer on his son from the sidelines with a proud smile on his face, offering unwavering support and encouragement. Jay admired Megan for her wit and wisdom, marveling at the incredible young woman she had become. His children were his world, and their accomplishments brought him immeasurable happiness.
In his leisure time, Jay found solace and joy in his passions. He was an avid football and NASCAR fan, and especially enjoyed his "Sunday Funday" with his closest friends. Camping trips with his family and friends created memories that will be cherished forever. Jay was known as the comedic soul of the family. His quick wit and infectious sense of humor always brought laughter and joy to those around him. Whether it was a well-timed joke or a playful prank, Jay had a unique ability to lighten any room and bring smiles to the faces of his loved ones. His humor was a gift that will be cherished and remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of experiencing it.
Jay dedicated 29 years of his life working for the Town of Prospect, pouring his heart and soul into his work. He was a loyal and dependable employee, respected by his colleagues and admired for his strong work ethic. Jay's commitment to his community was unwavering, and his contributions will be remembered for years to come.
Jay leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. His sudden departure has left a void that will never be filled, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May we find solace in the cherished memories we shared and find comfort in knowing that Jay's love will surround us always.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Duffy O'Donnell, children, Megan and Ryan; mother, Sandra, brothers William, Brian (Julie), Kevin (Barbara), and his sister Tracie (Don); in-laws, James and Barbara Duffy, sister-in-law Debbie (Charles), brother-in-law James (Kristen); many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who will carry his memory with them forever.
Rest in peace, Jay. Your love and light will forever shine upon us.

We were saddened to hear of Jay's passing. He was a wonderful, friendly person. We would see him often at the Dunkin Donuts in Prospect and he would always go out of his way to stop and say hello. We also enjoyed seeing him and his family at Hammonassett when they were camping. He will be greatly missed by all. RIP Jay

Where do I begin...where do I end...you and Sue are such dear friends. I can't capture all I want to say in a short thread. The times we spent going to the Elks, Patriot games, seeing championship games, getting lost diving home from the Meadowlands, putting together children's bikes at Christmas. Just a few memories of many. Just remember pal..we had the tallest free standing patriot flag in the parking lot. Lori and I love you. Rest easy now my friend.

I can always remember the commitments and the friendships he had with the hawk´s family...There was one special moment when my son broke his wrist and was in a cast going down to New Jersey for a play off game and Jay wrapped my sons arm in a pool noodle in order for him to play... He always put his heart and soul out to everyone he knew...

We will miss you Jay RIP
