James Calvin Osborn

James C. "Oz" Osborn age 95 passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025. Graduate of West High School class of 1948. He was a life member of Box 15 Club, Inc. Chief Emeritus of The Columbus Division of Fire Auxiliary, Central Electrical Railfans Association (C.E.R.A.). Founding member of Central Ohio Firefighters Museum, Inc., American Legion and Past President, Trustee, former member of Central Ohio Railfan's Association (Ohio Railway Museum) and former member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Owner and operator Midwestern Train Hobby Midcco Models. He was a self-employed model maker, worked for County Wide Ambulance- EMS for London, Ohio, All-Ohio Ambulance and an (engineering) instructor C.T.I. (Industrial Technician) for the State of Ohio. Veteran US Naval Air Reserve, with active service in the Korean Conflict and he achieved the rank of ADE-2. Preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Vivian (Smith) Osborn; second wife of 6 years Francis (Bochmiller) Osborn; parents Herschel and Helen (Hartshorn) Osborn. Survived by children, Robert (Elly) Osborn, Pamela (Frank) Bate, Rebecca McNally; step-daughters, Judy (Ken) Weaver, Karen (Bill) Butcher, Lisa (David) Wehrle; grandchildren, Brian (Silvia) Osborn, Samuel Bate, Michael (Renee) Osborn, Tom McNally, Brent Bate, Jenni McNally; great grandson Nathan Osborn; many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Williams. Friends may call Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 4-7 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, 1:00 PM. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
