December 14, 1935 - August 22, 2025

On August 22, 2025, James R. Palzewicz, Sr., of Brookfield, passed away at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of Ellin (nee O' Donnell) Palzewicz for 29 years, loving step-father to David Timm and friend to Kerry Ann; brother-in-law to Stephen O' Donnell and his wife Cynthia.

James was preceded in death by parents Joseph Palzewiez and Rose Mathias Palzewicz, brothers Kenneth, Gerald, John and Roland; sisters Kathyrn, Joanne Hurtt and Jeanne Grider and Brother-in-law Patrick O' Donnell.

He is survived by brothers Les (Eleanor), Robert (Karen), Donald; sisters Judy Karbowski, Victoria Waite, Mary Carhoun and many nephews and nieces as well as a multitude of grandchildren.

James served in the US Navy aboard the US Randolph CVA15 as a QM2. He proudly navigated his ship in the Mediterranean Sea serving from 1954 thru 1958. He worked at American Motors and A O Smith as a supervisor, retiring from A O Smith after 30 years. Filling his retirement years he worked at State Fair Park as a security guard and then for over 5 years as an H&R Block Associate. James was a past Grand Knight and Charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #6646 and a member of the 4" degree with West Bend Council; a member of the Waukesha Elks #400 for 25 years, serving 7 years as a trustee.

A true Yooper, James was born in Banat/Stephenson, Michigan. He loved his Tigers, Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He loved hunting, golfing, bowling and Sheepshead and don't forget visiting Casinos. Ellin and Jim met in 1994 and tied the knot in Las Vegas in 1996, celebrating a loving friendship and marriage of over 31 years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and particularly to Zablocki Veterans Hospital for the compassionate care that was provided to Jim and the family.

Relatives and friends may join Jim's family on Wednesday, August 27, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP, East Site, 2322 S. 106th Street, West Allis. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Calvary.
