James Andrew "Jim" Paul, age 80, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 3:34 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home. He was born April 5, 1943 in Larkinsburg Twp, Clay County, IL the son of Lawrance Lester Paul and Grace Amelia (Pederson) Paul. On July 5, 1999 he married Pansy Pygott in Casey, IL.
Survivors include his wife of almost 24 years, Pansy Paul of Martinsville, IL; son, Jason Paul (Ann) of Sullivan, IN; stepson, Andy McCarty of Casey, IL; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrance L. Paul; mother, Grace A. Mitchell; several brothers and sisters; nephew, Matthew Wade Paul and grandson, Jason Paul, Jr.
Jim retired from Monroe school where was worked as a custodian for many years. Jim enjoyed telling stories, fishing and playing bingo. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Greenup.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the home of Leonard and Teresa Kemper, 678 A Co. Rd. 2100 E., Greenup, IL 62428.
Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, PO Box 175, Casey, IL 62420.
