James Lee "Jim" Porchia Sr., of Rockford departed this earthly life March 14, 2025. He was born July 7, 1939 in Stephens, Arkansas the son of Clara Mae Rhodes and O.D. Porchia. James lived in Rockford since 1969 coming from Pioneer, Louisiana. He married the former Rosie Hale, March 2, 1959 of this union five children were born. James was employed as a fork lift operator at Quaker Oats over 20 years and several years as a assembler by Product Display before retiring. He was a member of Second Christian Church. James attended school in Arkansas He loved to bowl, fish, and garden.
James leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife of 66 years, Rosie Mae Porchia; three sons, James Porchia Jr., Samuel ( Shahriee Holliman) Porchia and Stacey (Karen) Porchia; two daughters, Virginia (Brian) Hanserd and Jeanne (Robert) Ellis; special brother in law who he helped raise, James (Cindi) Hale; 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; four brothers, Willie Lee (Janice) Porchia, Mack (Vickie) Isom, Otis D. (Gail) Porchia and Philip Porchia; four sisters, Esther Haney, Clarency Isom, Ollie Isom and Minnie Isom, a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clara Mae Isom-Johnson and O.D. Porchia; sister, Eddie Mae McDaniel, and brother, Henry Lee Johnson.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Doors will be open from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Ollie I am so sorry for my grandson and your family loss we just lost our cousin last Saturday I always say God never makes mistakes we are all on loan until he is ready for us to come home praying for your family
