Curtis Iverson, 76, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, following complications from an amputation. He was born on February 12, 1949, in Pine Bluff, AR, to John Iverson and Beulah Richmond.
Curtis was raised in Rockford and attended Auburn High School. He had a strong work ethic and took pride in working various jobs, but he found the most joy in construction work. A man of dedication and service, Curtis also spent time serving in the U.S. Army. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved.
He is survived by his three children: Lisa Robinson (Augusta, GA), Curtis Iverson II (San Diego, CA), and John Payton-Iverson (Ellenwood, GA). He also leaves behind his siblings: Margaret (Nashville, TN), Johnetta, Verran, Hal, Carolyn, and Lavarne Iverson (all of Rockford, IL). Curtis was a beloved grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret "Bracy" Iverson, his parents, John and Beulah (Richmond) Iverson, and his siblings, Glenda and Joseph Iverson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Eight One Five Event Space, 6331 N. Second St., Loves Park, Illinois 61111.
Curtis will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community.
