In Loving Memory of James Henry Randles, Jr.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Henry Randles, Jr. on May 25, 2025, in Granbury, Texas. Jimmy, as he was affectionately known, was born on September 15, 1937, in Tyler, Texas. Jimmy led a life full of purpose, as was obvious to all who knew him. He served in the US Army and the Army Reserves. He attended auctioneer school and Texas Tech University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University. Jimmy was a proud and dedicated Mason and Shriner. Being a clown as a Shriner fit Jimmy's joyful, humorous, and caring personality perfectly. Jimmy had a distinguished career in the oil and gas industry, serving as a fleet manager for Diamond Shamrock for many years. After retirement, he acquired his real estate license. He also remained busy playing golf at Pecan Plantation and working briefly at Home Depot. He was very involved as a member and former elder of First Presbyterian Church of Granbury. Jimmy was known for his dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. His warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on those he held dear. Jimmy's memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, one that brought light and joy to so many. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who preceded him, and may his family find comfort in the enduring legacy he leaves behind.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Margaret Randles, who stood by his side throughout his journey. He is also survived by his brother Donald B. Randles of Las Vegas, Neveda; his sisters-in-law Kay Townsend of Haslet, Texas, and Marilyn Griffith of Arlington, Texas; by his cousins Vikki Estes of Gainesville, Texas and Carolyn Gable of Weatherford, Texas; by his nephews Casey Randles of Las Vegas, Neveda, Donald B. Randles II of Santa Barbara, California, Eldon Byers of Arlington, Texas, Justin Griffith of Mansfield, Texas, and Ryan Griffith of Houston, Texas; by his nieces Anna Randles of Santa Barbara, California, Robin Swift of Maui, Hawaii, Rebecca Randles-Davis of Las Vegas, Neveda, Valarie Ortega of Azle, Texas, Alicia Townsend of Haslet, Texas, and Carla Griffith of Fort Worth, Texas; and by many other family and friends who loved him dearly. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother Martha Ellen Roberts, his step-father Bailey Roberts, and his biological father James Henry Randles.
A columbarium service and reception will be held in Jimmy's honor on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Granbury, Texas.
