He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Essies (nee Smith) Redd; siblings Johnny William Davis Redd, Jesse Davis Redd Jr., Patricia Mae Redd, and brother-in-law Joseph Cohen.
He is survived by his wife Nannie Redd, and children, Cathy Larue, Paul Redd, Eric Redd, James Redd, Michael Redd, Sherry Horton, Harold Redd and step daughters, Mary Webster, Gloria Link, Alma Wagner.; and many grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda (Gary) Dennis, Rosie Marie (Duane) Jelinke, Deborah (Steven) McClurg, Robert (Cheryl) Redd, Jenny Cohen, Timmy Dwayne Redd and Anna Lisa (Doug) Kelley
James Allen was a man defined by hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family. From a young age, he learned the value of responsibility while helping his father with logging during his school years, a work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He opened his heart and home to many foster children, offering them stability, guidance, and care when they needed it most. James found joy in the outdoors, spending his time hunting and fishing, and he carried a lifelong passion for speed and mechanics through his race car. James and his wife Nannie enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and searching the flea markets and antiques stores for bargains. Above all, he cherished his family, and his legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the love he gave, and the memories he leaves behind.
