Jura was born on February 9, 1976, in
Garden City, Kansas, and was called to her eternal home on November 12, 2025, due to complications from surgery.
At the time of her passing, Jura resided in her hometown of Garden City. She graduated from Garden City High School, where she excelled academically and was active in 4-H. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and later her master's degree from the University of Phoenix. After completing her education, Jura moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to pursue her calling in education. She served the Clark County School District for 18 years-first as an elementary school teacher and later as a school counselor-positively impacting countless young lives. Her guidance, compassion, and belief in every child's potential helped shape many into successful adults.
Jura was a deeply selfless soul who consistently put others before herself. She gave freely and without hesitation-whether offering thoughtful advice, a comforting shoulder, or a listening ear free of judgment. To those who knew her, friendship with Jura meant family, and her loyalty and kindness were unwavering.
Gifted with creativity, Jura had a natural talent for crafting and cooking. She possessed an impeccable sense of style and was often complimented wherever she went. Everything she did was completed with care, precision, and intention-never halfway. She loved exploring new foods, especially diverse ethnic cuisines, and had a passion for travel and discovering new experiences. Her mind was beautifully curious, always seeking knowledge and new skills.
Jura is survived by her daughter, Jaryn Leak; her husband, Torrance Cooper; and her brother, Harold Redd. She also leaves behind her nieces, Mackenzie Redd Williams and Caylea Redd Williams, as well as her brother-in-law, Clifford Redd Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Vana; her sister, Jana Redd Williams; and her niece, Vana Redd.
Jura's spirit, warmth, and generosity will be forever cherished by her loved ones and all whose lives she touched.
